Welcome to Secret Garden Cafe, Garden and Take Out. Where the magic of the past echoes around this beautiful cafe dating back to 1890...with the previous shop keepers smiling proudly down from the walls and stunning antiques whisper of its history dotted around...it feels more like sitting in the parlour of a home from many years ago.

Alongside an extremely warm welcome and polished traditional table service we offer a simple traditional menu using the best local suppliers. You will find a good selection of sandwiches using Bondgate Bakery bread and Wilkinson's Butchers meats, Vegan and Vegetarian Choices, home made soup, quiches, salads, baked potatoes....even the good old traditional Ploughman's lunch. Desserts such as Banana Split and Sundaes are offered alongside the variety of handmade cakes on the 1950's cake trolley, beautiful scones with jam and clotted cream, cheese scones, tea cakes, Leeds based Northern Bloc ice cream and always served alongside a beautiful cup of Rounton of Northallerton Coffee, Yorkshire or Storm Tea.

For children not only do we have our children's choices menu, but we love to involve the children with watering the flowers in the garden using our mini watering cans, reading the vintage collection of children's books or filling out the Secret Garden nature activity pack.
